Who Should Attend? Class will be of special interest to: the public, doulas, midwife birth assistants, herbalogists, naturopaths, Chinese traditional medicine practitioners and students, other care service providers and women who practice self healing.
Description: This class will explore the Chinese Medical understanding of fibroids. We will explain the causes, physical, emotional, mental and spiritual as well as the treatment of fibroids. We will also examine ways in which diet and lifestyle may contribute to their formation. All of this will be seen through the light of Chinese Medical Diagnostics which elegantly unifies the body, mind, emotions and spirit into its vision of health.
Evan M. Rabinowitz holds a Masters of Acupuncture degree from the Traditional Acupuncture Institute, in Columbia Maryland. He is Nationally Board Certified by the National Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). In 2002, he was recognized by the U.S. Department of Health for his "outstanding contribution to Asian Medicine". Evan is faculty in the Chinese Herbal Medicine Department at the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture, Miami where he lectures on internal medicine, Five Element Herbal theory, and is a clinical supervisor. Evan spent several years apprenticing to herbalist Thea Elijah and is currently deepening his studies with Jeffery Yuen, 88th generation Taoist priest. Evan maintains a private practice in downtown Washington DC. A large segment of his practice is devoted to Gynecology and Reproductive Health.
